Refund & Cancellation Policy

This policy applies to paid FirstLook subscriptions. It is part of our Terms of Service.
Billing Basics
FirstLook is a monthly subscription billed in advance. Your payment method is charged on the same day each billing cycle, at the rate shown at checkout (founding members: $99/month; standard: $149/month, or the then-current rate). Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled.
How to Cancel
You can cancel any time, with no cancellation fee, through any of the following:
- In the app: Settings → Subscription → Cancel;
- Stripe customer portal: via the "Manage billing" link in any billing email;
- Email: firstlook.fyi@gmail.com from the address on your account — we will process the cancellation within 2 business days and confirm by email.
Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You keep full access until then. No further charges will occur after cancellation takes effect.
Note for app-store subscribers: if you subscribed through the Apple App Store or Google Play, billing is managed by Apple or Google. Cancel through your App Store or Play Store subscription settings; their refund policies apply to those charges.
Refunds
- First 14 days of your first paid subscription: if FirstLook isn't for you, email firstlook.fyi@gmail.com within 14 days of your first charge and we will refund it in full.
- After that: charges for a billing period already started are generally non-refundable, and we do not prorate partial months. Cancel before your renewal date to avoid the next charge.
- Exceptions: we will refund charges resulting from our billing errors, duplicate charges, or verified unauthorized transactions. If we discontinue the Service or suspend it for an extended period, we will refund the unused portion of any prepaid amount.
- Refunds are issued to the original payment method, typically within 5–10 business days of approval.
Nothing in this policy limits any non-waivable refund rights you have under the law of your state or country.
Founding-Member Pricing
Founding-member pricing ($99/month) remains in effect only while your subscription is continuously active. If you cancel and re-subscribe later, the then-current standard rate applies. A failed payment that we are unable to resolve with you within 14 days is treated as a cancellation for this purpose; we will attempt to notify you before that happens.
Failed Payments
If a renewal charge fails, we will retry and notify you. If payment isn't resolved within 14 days, your subscription will be cancelled and alerts will stop.
