Terms of Service
FirstLook (firstlook.fyi) Effective date: 5/28/2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and [LEGAL ENTITY NAME, e.g., Firstlook Labs LLC], a New Jersey limited liability company ("FirstLook," "we," "us"), governing your use of the firstlook.fyi website, the FirstLook mobile applications, and related services (together, the "Service"). By joining the waitlist, creating an account, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. What the Service Is (and Isn't)
FirstLook is a job-alert notification service. We monitor publicly available career pages and applicant tracking system (ATS) feeds and send subscribers push notifications about product management and technical program management roles that match their filters.
FirstLook is not a job board, recruiter, staffing agency, or career counselor. We do not post jobs, accept applications, represent employers, or guarantee interviews or employment. All applications happen directly with the hiring employer on their own systems, under their own terms.
No affiliation. References to specific companies (including any employer names appearing on our website or in alerts) are for identification only. FirstLook is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any employer whose roles appear in the Service. All trademarks belong to their respective owners.
2. Eligibility and Accounts
You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. You agree to provide accurate account information, keep your credentials secure, and notify us of any unauthorized use. Accounts are personal to you and may not be shared, resold, or used to provide alerts to third parties.
3. Subscriptions, Billing, and Auto-Renewal
Pricing. Current pricing is displayed at checkout. Founding-member pricing ($99/month, versus the standard $149/month) applies only while your subscription remains continuously active. If you cancel and later re-subscribe, then-current standard pricing applies.
Auto-renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically each billing period at the then-applicable rate until you cancel. Your payment method will be charged at the start of each renewal period. Payments are processed by Stripe; we do not store your full card details.
Cancellation. You may cancel at any time through your account settings, the Stripe customer portal linked in your billing emails, or by emailing [SUPPORT EMAIL]. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. See our Refund & Cancellation Policy for details.
Price changes. We may change standard pricing with at least 30 days' notice. Founding-member pricing will not increase while your subscription remains continuously active, except as required by tax changes.
Taxes. Prices exclude applicable taxes, which will be added where required by law.
4. Alerts, Data Sources, and No Guarantees
Job data in the Service is aggregated from third-party sources, including employer career pages and ATS feeds. While we work to deliver alerts quickly and accurately:
- We do not guarantee any particular alert speed, including any median or typical delivery time referenced in our marketing. Delivery depends on third-party systems, polling intervals, network conditions, and your device settings.
- We do not guarantee that alerts are complete, accurate, or current. Postings may be modified, filled, or removed by employers at any time. Compensation figures reflect what the employer published and may be inaccurate or outdated.
- We do not guarantee coverage of any particular employer, role, or percentage of the market.
- Push notification delivery depends on your device, operating system, and notification settings, which are outside our control.
Your use of any job posting, application link, or employer information is at your own risk and subject to the employer's own terms.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Scrape, harvest, or systematically extract data from the Service, or access it through automated means other than our official apps;
- Resell, republish, or redistribute alerts or Service data, including to operate a competing service;
- Share account access with others or circumvent subscription limits;
- Reverse engineer the Service or interfere with its operation or security;
- Use the Service in violation of any applicable law or third-party terms.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate this section.
6. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its software, design, text, and compilation of data, is owned by FirstLook or its licensors and protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for your personal job search. Underlying job postings remain the property of the respective employers.
7. Feedback
If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them without restriction or compensation to you.
8. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT ANY ALERT WILL RESULT IN AN APPLICATION OPPORTUNITY, INTERVIEW, OR JOB OFFER.
9. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, FIRSTLOOK WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOST PROFITS, LOST OPPORTUNITIES (INCLUDING MISSED JOB OPPORTUNITIES), OR LOST DATA, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE, OR $100 IF YOU HAVE PAID US NOTHING.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold FirstLook harmless from claims arising out of your misuse of the Service or violation of these Terms.
11. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access for violation of these Terms, suspected fraud or abuse, or if we discontinue the Service, in which case we will refund any prepaid amounts for periods after discontinuation.
12. Changes to the Service or Terms
We may modify the Service or these Terms. For material changes to these Terms, we will provide notice (e.g., by email or in-app) at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree, cancel before the changes take effect.
13. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in New Jersey, and you consent to their jurisdiction. Either party may bring qualifying claims in small-claims court.
14. Miscellaneous
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and Refund & Cancellation Policy, are the entire agreement between you and FirstLook regarding the Service. If any provision is unenforceable, the rest remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
